CASAA 2 has been released.

CASAA alpha for 6.x has been released on Drupal.

The awaited release comes after a long period of development and testing within many large publications' websites.

The framework was released with integration with the Domain Access and cTools modules. The integration with the Context module has not been completed yet but, the integration is still in the scope for coming releases, especially, for the 7.x release.

Pretty much now, we're still working on getting all of the features in the framework and clearing out all of the bugs to get ready for the beta release for 6.x.

Here are some of the coming features for the module:
- Import/Export/Clone functionality to allow for easier migration between environments.
- Context integration.
- Plug-in registry: allows the plugins for the framework to be installed separately from the core module as opposed to the 1.x releases where the plugins were required to be installed in a specific plugins directory.

In terms of the plug-ins for the framework, they are no longer being released with the core module. Plugins are released as separate modules/project on Drupal.org.

Currently, I've only created a sandbox release of the Yahoo APT plugin as that is the only plugin that is the strongest in the group in terms of usability.

I want to encourage developers to build plugins for the framework to their specs.

Currently, 7.x and 8.x versions of the framework are being ported side-by-side to one, get the 7.x version out and ready and two, to get ahead of the curve and have the 8.x version ready to go when the Drupal core dev team announces the first releases of 8.x.
